  Needed: Emoticons for Important Things!

  we've all seen the smileys, some of which quite useful for expressing emotions and getting across what would need lots of words.. however, we lack emoticons for what is discussed in -chat most of the time (and quite often on this board as well).

  Preparing for Armageddon!

  what was the silliest thing you ever did to prepare for armageddon?.

  way back when in my pioneering days, when we were out in service we would often talk about what to do when the great tribulation came along.

  one of my pioneering buddies told me that he was so sure the gt was around the corner that he went and buried some food for the bros and sis to eat when we fled to the hills.

  Mindchild, I had to laugh rading about your nitrated socks. I was a 'science geek" myself. Wasn't it great when you could buy chemicals without having NIOSH, OSHA and god knows how many other governmental nannys requesting a signed proof of ID and a sample of genetic material?

  You could have added other products to your catalog - how about nitro-oatmeal? Start your day with a BANG!

  On the serious side, I know too many for whom Armageddon preparation meant dropping out of High School or quitting jobs or selling businesses to pioneer prior to 1975. What sacrifices were made on the altar of Stupidity.

  my mother died from refusing a blood transfussion, it took her 3 weeks to die and her body fought hard to live.

  by the end she had gangrene in both feet and hands, the doctors said, if she survived they would have to be amputated.

  im there thinking, "okay, shes footless, handless, but still mummy dearest".kidney failure, heart failure followed, with the doctors fighting like all hell trying to keep her alive.

  Hi Ed,

  Sorry about your Mother's suffering. If I may, I'd like to repeat the gist of Seeker's comment because I think it is profound - the scriptural treatment of blood is based on RESPECT FOR LIFE and blood is used as a symbol for life. The Witnesses have inverted the intent of the scripture, venerating the symbol while abusing the actual.

  What greater idolatry could there be?

  We could justifiably call Jehovah's Witnesses "BLOOD WORSHIPPERS," couldn't we?

  blanks comment, we can see it's important not to gossip and spread rumors, and some people in here need to start applying that in there lives, and get out of my business!.

  # 9 - we know we're in the last days... when i was at the movies yesterday watching scream part 3, i could see how the actors in the movie couldn't get along and solve a problem without cursing and swearing all over the place.. # 8 - i know we're all witnesses, so can i get a witness.... # 7 - uh, excuse me brother, but your talk is going overtime and kfc closes in 15 minutes, you know what i'm saying?.

  unfortunately my 3 nieces are getting baptized tomorrow.

  my dad called me to tell me how proud he was of his grandchildren.

  i felt a sick feeling come over me, followed by rising anger.

  UN involvement announced at Assembly?

  i heard from someone that the wts was going to or had already announced something about the un involvement at an assembly.

  anyone else heard of this or is it a local thing ?.

  i would guess they may have only done this because of the coverage in the uk national newspaper which they know they have to counter.

  I think we ought to speculate on how such an announcement would be made. Here's my guess:

  "The attack on God's people has begun. Records have been falsified and statements have been made linking Jehovah's Faithful and Discreet Slave with the scarlet-colored wild beast of Revelations. How appropriate would it be if Jehovah executed his judgement on this evil system of things by January 1, 2002? Not that we're saying that; we're simply asking if that wouldn't be really cool. Now is the time for faithful servants of Jah to donate their homes th the WTS - with so little time likely remaining, only a couple modest rent payments would be due before the end come crashing down on your heads. (Fubar 23:17)"
